Custom Fire and Iron Challenge Coins

Fire and Iron was established in 1997 by Lance Hilliard and Joe Czesnakowicz as a motorcycle club for active, retired, and volunteer firefighters. An inclusive establishment that does many cross-country rides a year, Fire and Iron MC has a vast and varied membership across the United States, Canada, and even Germany. Fire and Iron has over 8 regions, which is further divided into 140 “stations,” or chapters. Many of these regions and stations have Challenge Coins of their own, a tradition that began in the United States military, migrated into the law enforcement, and eventually made its way into firefighting as well.In the military, the typical use of a Challenge Coin is to give to subordinates in honor of superb service. They also create Challenge Coins for installations and bases. This second use of Challenge Coins was embraced by Fire and Iron, who have nearly as many Challenge Coins as they do stations. In addition, Fire and Iron MC also use their Challenge Coins to commemorate special events and honor fallen members.

The tradition emblem of Fire and Iron features a maltese cross, either sporting a skull in the middle, or backed by a pair of crossed fire axes. It’s very common for Fire and Iron coins to features this emblem, which also serves as a jack patch. Recently, however, Fire and Iron Challenge Coins have begun to boast more diverse designs.
